What are recombinant antibodies?

Recombinant antibodies are produced by cloning antibody genes into expression vectors, which are subsequently introduced into expression hosts to provide animal-free antibody production. Recombinant antibodies offer several advantages over both traditional monoclonal and polyclonal antibodies:

  • Animal-free high-throughput production

  • Improved sensitivity and specificity

  • Improved consistency and reproducibility

  • Ease of scalability
